Meeting of the Executive Board of
the Information Technology Foundation under the Initiative of
H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (No. 2/2569)
Sra Pathum Palace, Bangkok: On Monday, March 23, 2026, at 9:00 AM, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the 2nd meeting of the Executive Board of the Information Technology Foundation under the Initiative of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (No. 2/2026) to review and consider the Foundation’s performance in 2025 and its operational plan for 2026.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously established the Information Technology Project under the Royal Patronage in 1995. The Project was later registered as a foundation in 2015. Its mission is to utilize information technology, along with other science and technologies, to reduce social inequality, in four initial target groups, i.e., rural schoolchildren, people with disabilities, chronically ill children in hospitals, prison inmates, and youths in the juvenile detention centers.

The Foundation’s Board Meeting No. 2/2026 consisted of 13 board members and advisors, and an additional 80 participants, including executives from partner organizations and Thai researchers, who attended both on-site and online, for a total of 93 people. The meeting had six main agendas, categorized into 19 sub-agendas.

The work and outputs of the Foundation in 2025, which were considered at today’s meeting, included important examples such as:
- The use of a portable 3D computed tomography (CT) scanner, or MobiiScan, which was developed and built by researchers in Thailand, to assist in planning surgery for patients with cleft lip and palate, in the hospital to which the Foundation has donated MobiiScan.
- The use of solar energy systems and internet communication systems to benefit education and learning, improve quality of life, and conserve culture and biodiversity in 23 Border Patrol Police schools in remote areas on the northern and western borders. These schools do not have access to electricity or internet like those in large cities.

- The provision of water for consumption and clean, pollution-free agriculture for the Border Patrol Police School Ban Thep Phu Ngoen, Nam Som District, Udon Thani Province, and nearby communities that face problems with raw water sources contaminated with herbicide chemicals, as well as the commencement of road construction and the installation of electricity transmission lines to reach the school and community.
- Providing assistance to more than 20 individuals with disabilities through case studies, enabling them to live independently and receive education according to their potential. Some were born without limbs and do not have stumps to be fitted with prosthetic limbs.
- Developing youth in rural areas and juvenile detention centers, as well as novice monks in Buddhist schools, in the general education section, to have digital and coding skills, enabling them to use such knowledge and skills for further education, to help in their lives, and to pursue careers.

In 2025, more than 400 organizations have benefited from the Foundation’s projects, with more than 3,600 beneficiaries, including teachers, students, youth in juvenile detention centers, individuals with disabilities, and related personnel. Seventy-three (73) students and their supervising teachers who participated in the project received awards in national competitions. Seventy-six (76) Grade 12 students in the project have used their work from the foundation’s project as supporting documentation when applying for higher education (TCAS/Portfolio) and were admitted to enroll in the university. Over 64,000 sick children in the hospitals nationwide have received services in computer classrooms for sick children in more than 90 hospitals.
In addition to assisting the Thai people, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn also graciously granted assistance to neighboring countries in the field of education. For example, Her Royal Highness graciously bestowed computer equipment, along with buildings and science experiment equipment, and scholarships in science and technology, humanities, and linguistics to the School in Laos (Cultural Protection and Peace Keeping School, Lao, PDR).
Over the past 30 years, the Foundation has successfully completed its work through cooperation of numerous partners from the government, private sector, universities, research institutions, and various foundations, both domestic and international, who are ready to provide physical, moral, knowledge, and resources to continue Her Royal Highness’s initiative in using science and technology to help the people continuously.
