Exclusive: Mel Reid into the Assist as well as how it could boost

Once raining the woman LPGA journey credit inside the December LG’s Draw Townsend caught up having Mel Reid to own a coffees to share with you her year ahead. Partly 2 it talk about the Females Eu Trip and how it may be generated more powerful

It’s a difficult or less platforms in order to bump up the amount regarding events?

There has in fact started talk on the by players. I might choose play a-two-go out experiences in which a new player gets protected ?five hundred such as for example, additionally the champion requires ?20k, you understand, Ok, it is far from high in case it’s a couple regarding days or a one- go out experience, you will want to.

The problem is professionals dont help by themselves because they will just appear so you’re able to a ˆ200k knowledge into the The newest Zealand and they’ll score a full career, so they never assist by themselves.

However if truth be told there aren’t that lots of events…

I know, they simply want to gamble golf. I also imagine there are way too many trip notes into the fresh Help, unnecessary.

What is actually an ideal number?

I think there should be 60 that is they. In the event the trip grows and you can we have been to relax and play getting ?step one.2m a week upcoming reasonable enough it’s possible to have a good 140 occupation however you cannot from the moment.

Is it as crappy because it’s started?

Yes, I believe disappointed for Ivan (Khodabakhsh) since I believe he or she is taking a number of stick about players. He is trying do employment that truly need regarding 10 some one and we also can not afford to engage 10 some body.

New LPGA commissioner Mike Whan do an amazing occupations, he’s extremely friendly, but they have a staff off 50, perhaps much more. The guy sent an individual Christmas card to people, he also sent one myself having your own content.

Some one need to comprehend you to definitely Ivan’s efforts are quite difficult and you may We indeed would not need it. Yet not I do believe that he might have a somewhat most readily useful connection with the participants.

Just what part of the fault should the members deal with new Assist?

Appearing for the not-so-a great milf free occurrences, that is not creating the players people favours. I don’t know, it’s needless to say a touch of a catch 22, when we were certainly getting repaid extra money this may be might be other.

This is basically the strongest I have previously known the new Let in terms off talent most abundant in varied level of participants. There are a lot sports athletes out there now. Whenever i earliest appeared there have been a couple of individuals at the gym, today I will wade on 5:30am in advance of my tee time and there is half a dozen some body in there.

So how do you in the level of competitions?

Just like the tour are trying to score 50 % of-a- million-lb situations, that we agree with, I know don’t think there has to be one experience significantly less than ?350k, however, there must be a global center ground. This new concert tour needs to enter and you can state ‘Okay, we will indication to possess ?300k for another any type of ages but you need certainly to make sure for three decades after that we can features ?500k’. That is what the LPGA manage.

New LPGA has also been struggling not too way back?

The individual prior to Mike Whan destroyed enough occurrences and you can it was from inside the a comparable disease to what our company is in on the Let however,, once more, there is absolutely no profit Europe as well so it’s good difficult occupations. In the event that men are shedding situations after that we have been de nitely struggling. You’ll find too many trip notes, this is the main matter. There are 30 and you may connections within previous Q School and you will they could reach enjoy when you look at the five situations.

How many occurrences will you play into the European countries next season?

Other than the brand new co-approved situations I might have fun with the Foreign-language. I love the fresh new Marbella area. And then I’d without a doubt gamble Dubai that’s my personal half a dozen situations that i have to enjoy when you look at the.

England’s Mel features obtained fourfold towards Assist and you can was unbeaten from inside the five suits within 2015 Solheim Cup for the Germany. Pursue the lady to the Myspace right here:
